Hello, I’m Sondra Harnes, Artistic director of the World Children’s Choir. We invite you to sing with us in our Prayer for Ukraine virtual choir video. The video will be included in an online benefit concert for Ukrainian children. The proceeds will go to the Voices of Children Foundation which provides art therapy for Ukrainian children. We actually have two videos - one for children and teens, and one for adults, teens, and children. The two videos will be merged together into one final video. We open with just children singing the first eight measures of the song. Then children and teens sing the entire song. This will connect to the SATB version that has adults and all the children and teens singing together. We have two separate folders in my personal Google Drive folder. One for each version of the song. Everything you need is in the folder. You can also find the information on our website. This amazing technology is really, yes, really easy to use. You only need one device (ideally a laptop/Mac or PC, but you can also use your cell phone or other device). It’s very important to know that you must use either the Chrome or Edge browser. Other browsers don’t work properly. You can listen to and record with your computer or device at the same time. We go over the steps in the instructions document. And, I’m only an email or Zoom meeting away if you need help. You can make as many recordings as you like. You will be able to hear yourself singing against the backing track before you decide which video you want included in the project. Experienced virtual choristers have already submitted theirs and found the platform very easy and intuitive. People of all ages from all over the world have recorded using EVC.
